Hermann Pilz于1948年在德国埃斯林根市成立该公司，致力于玻璃吹制业。他为后来独立创办中等规模的家族企业的成功奠定了基础。 在成立之初，Pilz公司为医疗技术方面生产玻璃仪器而在工业应用方面生产水银继电器，Hermann Pilz有着自己*的管理方式。早在当时，在工程上，便对员工实行了承包责任制，责任范围从焊接到测试再到派送，贯穿于独立处理工作中的每一步环节。
